Ledbury Estate

Studio Gil collaborated with Lead Masterplanner Karakausevic Carson Architects on the renewal of the Ledbury Estate in Peckham, alongside other practices Office Sian and nimtim. The project – which has achieved planning permission – will re-provide 224 council homes for existing residents with an additional 116 mixed-tenure homes, alongside a new community (TRA) hall, commercial spaces and a green and playable landscape and public realm.

Our practice supported Karakusevic Carson Architects on the design of the new tower for the estate, as well as the development of the community hall. Sustained engagement and co-design ensured that the local community felt they were involved in key decisions on all aspects of the scheme, and residents voted via ballot in 2021 for the renewal programme to take place.
